Applications on the XY Tablet

When you open your XY Tablet the first time you will find a lot of pre-installed applications to make your experience with the tablet more enjoyable.  In this article we will provide you with a short overview of the apps that comes pre-installed on the XY Tablet. 

Adobe Reader

• Open PDF files that are email attachments, on the internet or stored locally on the device (including SD card)
• View PDF Portfolios and Password-protected files
• Easily read PDF files regardless of screen size by choosing Single page, Continuous scroll or Text Reflow viewing modes

Alarm

This alarm clock displays the time, and allows the picking of Hours and Minutes for the Alarm, Select Alarm Tone, Select all days, one day or several days. Snooze option.

Browser

Androids built-in internet-browser. User agent Mozilla/5.0 Linux; U Android2.2.1. Based on Apple WebKit Mobile Safari.

Calculator

Semi advance calculator with Sin, Cos, Log, Tan, In and standard calculator functions.

Calendar

With Alarm for Reminder. Use as Local calendar or sync with Google calendar account.
Comes with a nice Widget for the home screen.

Camera

Switch between Photo and Video option. Auto white balance, Auto Exposure. Share via Bluetooth, Facebook or E-mail.

Contacts

Contact list with Favorites, Group, Search, and Contact Photo/Avatar. Import/Export from SIM or SD card. Share contacts via Bluetooth or e-mail. Set Ringtone for each contact.

EBooks

Add Bookmark on pages. Adjust Font size, Chose between Black on  White or White on  Black. Adjust Brightness. Book cover on shell. Import books from SD Card.

E-mail

Setup your Gmail, Yahoo or other Email account to read/write/retrieve Emails.

Faceboook

Facebook for Android makes it easy to stay connected and share with friends. Share status updates from your home screen, chat with your friends, check out your News Feed, review your upcoming Events, look at your friends’ walls and user info, check in to Places to get Deals, upload Photos, share links, check your Messages.

Filemanager

File Manager allows you to browse your Device and SD card, create directories, rename, copy, move, Un-Zip, Rename and delete files. Copy multiple files. Install Apps from the SD card or Download folder.

Gallery

Gallery is a Photo and Video viewer application where you can:
- View photo and video in floating folders, Zoom in or out with Pinch and Zoom or in a slideshow.
- Edit (crop/rotate/delete) Photos. Set the image as Wallpaper
- Share photo and video via Facebook, Bluetooth or Email.

GlobalTime

Display local time from major cities around the world.

ImiChat

Latitude

See where your friends are right now. See your friends on a map – find out who's nearby and meet up. Places with Hotpot -Find nearby places with the Places icon. Rate places to get personalized recommendations.  Directions - Get driving, transit, biking, or walking directions in a list or on the map (where data is available). 

Place Pages -Search for any business or place to find listing info, pictures, reviews & ratings, and more rich details.  My Location - See your location on a map, even if you don't have GPS turned on.

Real-time traffic helps you find the fastest route.  Street View -View Street-level imagery of businesses and turns in directions. Layers - Overlay layers on the map (e.g. Traffic, Satellite, Terrain, search results, and more).

Market

Access Android Market and download more than 250.000 free Apps and Games. Search for Games or Apps. See What’s New, What’s Popular and Featured Games or Apps. Get information about updates to apps already installed. Read comments and reviews.

Messaging

SMS Read or Write. Manage SIM Card messages, Set notification icon and notification tone.

Music

Music Player with Library (Artist, Albums, Songs), Playlist and Search. Play from device or SD Card. Download Lyrics and album art. Repeat, Shuffle.

Navigation

Google Maps Navigation Beta version. GPS Navigation and driving direction.

News

RSS Feed reader. Use Pre-installed RSS feeds or add you own. Set automatic refresh time or refresh manually.

Notepad

Write or draw your notes using the keyboard or write/draw directly on the screen. Share via Email.

Phone

Phone Call. Phone keypad. Call log, Contact-list, Favorite. Add 2-sec pause to dialing. Add wait.
Speaker phone, Call log missing calls, call in and out. Avatar on caller, Hold call, Mute Call.

Photoview

View photo, Zoom in or out with Pinch and Zoom or in a slideshow. Order Photos by Gallery or time.
Edit (crop/rotate/delete) Photos. Set the image as Wallpaper. Share photo and video via Facebook, Bluetooth Messaging (MMS) or Email.

Places

Search for any business or place to find listing info, pictures, reviews & ratings, and more rich details.  Restaurants, Coffee, Bars, Attractions, ATM’s, Gas Stations, Explore Nearby or add your own.

RSS Reader

Simple lightweight RSS Reader. Add your own RSS feeds.

Search

Search the Web, bookmarks, browser history. Search the device for Installed Apps or Games, Contacts, SMS messages and Music (Artist, Album, Tracks)

Sound Recorder

Record sound (Dictaphone) with VU meter and time. Playback recorded messages.

Google Talk

Instant Message from Google – use Google account to login and chat with friends who also use Google Talk.

TaskManager

End programs running to free up more memory. Or use as multitask to jump from one apps to another.
Shortcut to TaskManager can be found at the hardware keys. End one app at a time or end all.

Video

Video player with several codecs to play most video files. Plays HD videos 1080 P. Settings for full-screen or with play controls at the bottom.

Weather

Check the weather in major cities around the world. Add the city and see the forecast.

YouTube

Browse YouTube or search for the videos you want to see. Make your own channel/playlist. Enable or disable captions. Chose between normal and HQ videos.

Settings

Wireless & Network Setup: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Airplane mode, VPN, Mobile Networks.

Sound: Silent, Volume, Vibrate settings. Ringtone and notification sound setting.

Display: Auto Calibrate the screen, Light sensor settings, Brightness, Auto rotate screen, Animation, Zoom setting and Screen timeout (idle) settings.

Location and Security: Wifi on/off, GPS on/off. Lock screen with PIN or password. Set SIM card lock, set device administrator, set secure certificates access, Install from SD Card (Enable to install Apps and Games from SD Card to device) set password, clear storage (delete all).

Applications: Accept install from Unknown Sources (Accept to install Apps and Games from SD card, USB or other than market) Manage Apps/Game (remove) Running services (See what is running in the background) Development (For Apps developers)

Accounts & Sync settings: Accept or decline that Apps can sync, send and receive data. Auto-sync, Account for sync with Google services. Add account.

Privacy: Back-up data and application data. Restore, Factory Reset (Erase ALL data on the system)

Storage: Show total memory space used and available.

Search: Search the Web, bookmarks, browser history. Search the device for Installed Apps or Games, Contacts, SMS messages and Music (Artist, Album, Tracks)

Language & Keyboard: Set language, set keyboard to be used, User dictionary. Keyboard settings.

Date & Time: Time zone, 12/24 hour, date format, set time.

About Tablet: Shows Battery status, Model number, Android version, Kernel version, build number.
